On behalf of our Amber Workplaces are we currently searching for a skilled Senior Test Manager
What are we looking for
We are looking for an experienced and technically proficient Senior Test Manager to lead our testing efforts on data platforms and data-driven applications. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both manual and automated testing, a deep understanding of testing strategies for data-centric applications, and an enthusiastic drive to promote a shift-left testing approach. This individual will also excel in stakeholder management, report generation, and dashboard creation to maintain transparency and ensure alignment across teams. The role involves quickly learning and integrating into a dynamic supply chain project, identifying opportunities to streamline testing processes, and ensuring the highest quality standards are met.
Furthermore, you will be responsible for:
Test Strategy Development and Execution:
- Design and implement testing strategies for data platforms and data-driven applications, ensuring comprehensive coverage of functional, non-functional, and data quality requirements.
- Lead manual testing efforts where needed but prioritize automation to minimize repetitive testing. Ensure that once a test is executed manually, it is automated for future runs.
Shift-Left Testing and Test Automation:
- Champion the shift-left testing approach, collaborating closely with development teams to integrate testing earlier in the development lifecycle, using the Test CoE standard automation frameworks.
- Software development skills using .Net framework, JavaScript/Angular, Knowledge of non-relational databases- mongodb, Web REST APIs, and Kafka based events streaming plus monitoring tools – ELK
Stakeholder Communication and Reporting:
- Serve as the main point of contact for all testing activities, managing expectations and providing updates to stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reports that provide clear, actionable insights into testing progress, coverage, and quality metrics, keeping stakeholders informed and project visibility high.
Process Optimization and Continuous Improvement:
- Quickly understand the supply chain domain and assess the current testing processes, identifying redundant steps and recommending improvements.
- Identify gaps in existing testing processes and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and quality.
- Work closely with development, product, and QA teams to ensure that testing is as lean and effective as possible.
Leadership Ownership and Team Collaboration:
- Mentor and support junior QA engineers, promoting a culture of quality, continuous learning, and process improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, business analysts, and product owners, to ensure a seamless testing experience and maintain high standards.
- Bringing latest and best practices in delivery and operations and constantly improving team's output.
- Work across all phases of the software development lifecycle (planning, design, implementation, deployment, operations, and support).
- Technically owning the test automation of new services and products, component, and system.
- Partner with product owner, architect and the Test CoE for setting the test and quality vision for the team.
- Facilitate UAT testing with stakeholders and make sure planning and execution aligned.
- Write and maintain documentation.
Using the right technology
We are looking for an experienced Test manager with good communication skills and a flair to automate as much as possible:
- Overall more than 10 years of experience in Testing and Test Management
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in automation testing, with a strong background in Playwright and scripting in JavaScript or TypeScript.
- Shift Left Expertise: Demonstrated experience in applying Shift Left principles to testing, with a focus on early defect detection and prevention. This also requires strong collaborations with development and business teams.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in Playwright, JavaScript, TypeScript, and related testing frameworks. Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab), knowledge of core development language such as C# or Java Spring boot would be a plus.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Previous exposure to the Atlassian Stack (Jira/Confluence).
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps (Azure Pipelines/Azure Repos (git)).
Educational Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of experience in testing and 5 years in managing teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- ISTQB certification is an advantage.
- Test automation certifications are an advantage.
